Dearest Babaa! It is with deep sadness that we learned of your passing. I knew you as a friend of my dad from your university days and through the committee on which you both served. Over the years, our families became even more closely connected through the your daughter (Seun) and my wife, who have been childhood friends. That bond gave me the privilege of experiencing the warmth and hospitality that you and your family so generously extended, a reflection of the remarkable man you were. I was privileged to see you during my visit to Lagos in April. Despite your frail health, you still insisted on escorting us. That simple yet profound act reflected your kindness, selflessness, and unwavering thoughtfulness. It is a memory I will always cherish and one that speaks volumes about the depth of your character. As we bid you farewell, we give thanks for a life well lived and for the many lives you impacted through your quiet acts of kindness and unwavering goodwill. May the Almighty grant you eternal rest, and may your gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Rest well, Sir. Your memory will forever be cherished.

Some people leave a mark on a family that time cannot erase. Babaa was one of those people. To me, Babaa was a mentor and a source of steady encouragement. Whenever we spoke, he would ask about my life with genuine interest and remind me, in his own way, to keep striving to be the best version of myself. His belief in people was quiet but constant, and it made a difference. When my dad fell ill, and later when we lost him, Babaa stepped forward for our family. He offered encouragement and support through that difficult time, and his wisdom and advice gave me strength when I needed it most. Losing a brother could not have been easy for him, yet he carried himself with grace and helped the rest of us carry on. When my wife and I had our traditional wedding, Babaa travelled to be there, standing in the place my dad would have held that day. It was a kindness we will never forget. In recent years I have been continuing the family tree my dad was working on, tracing the roots and branches of the people we come from. I find myself wishing Babaa were still here, because he carried so much of our family's story with him, and his wisdom would have guided that work as it guided so much else. Babaa, thank you for your encouragement, your support, and your wisdom. They live on in our family and in the people you helped us become. Rest well. You will always be part of our story.

My dearest Babaa, There isn’t a single day that passes without thoughts of you filling my heart. Your absence has left a space that no one can ever replace. Losing you has been one of the greatest pains I have ever known, but I thank God for the precious moments we shared and the love you gave so freely. You were more than my brother; you were my friend, my protector, my source of laughter, and a light in our family. Your kindness, your smile, and your caring heart will forever remain in our memories. Though you are no longer here with us, your love continues to guide us every day. Sometimes I find myself wishing I could hear your voice just one more time, share one more laugh, or simply tell you how much I love you. But I find comfort in believing that your beautiful soul is at peace and that your memory will never fade. Babaa, you may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts. Your legacy of love, strength, and compassion will live on in everyone whose life you touched. Babaa! As my uncle is fondly called by the whole family and friends was an amazing, selfless, supportive uncle. He would ensure that all his children, nephews and nieces are progressing in their academic and career endeavours. He would call me occasionally to check on me and my family that at a point I felt guilty of not returning his calls with same frequency he did. I also remember when our mom was ill shortly before her demise, he paid for all the medical expenses and brought her home himself when she was discharged from the hospital. They were quite close! Each time he came to Canada for summer with Mamaa, he would always call and informed me of his presence. I decided to travel to Toronto in one of their summer travels and visited them, and thank God I was able to achieve that. That day happened to be the last time I saw him physically before his call to glory. Thanks you sir for all you did for the family as a whole and individually. May your gentle soul continue to rest in peace! Amen!!

Bába is a great and very generous man, he intervened in my life when I was at the lowest. I was having issues meeting the jamb cut off mark and getting into the university about 14 years ago and he heard about it. He took it up as a project and drove my dad and I in his car with his driver all the way to Funaab at Abeokuta, Ogun state to meet with his friend who could help out. It was a fun ride and an impactful visit. I graduated from Funaab 6 years later all thanks to bába for letting God use him for me. This is an experience I cherish so much and I'll never forget. Bába will be dearly missed. Rest well, sir.

Babaa, It is with heavy hearts that we bid you farewell. Though your departure has left a great void in our lives, we are grateful to God for the privilege of having known you and shared in your life. My uncle, Engineer Olugbenga Olatunde Olabenjo, FNSE was a remarkable leader whose wisdom, strenght of character, and exemplary leadership served as a binding force within the family. Through his counsel, guidance, and unwavering committment to unity, he nurtured harmony and inspired generations to strive for excellence. He championed the culture of celebrating achievements and honouring milestones. He instituted awards for academic excellence, plaques to commemorate significant birthdays, and recognitions for outstanding career accomplishments within the Popoola Olabenjo family. His passion for encouraging others reflected depth of his generosity and selfless spirit. My dear uncle embodied the virtues of discipline, unity, equality, courage, integrity, contentment, and selflessness. He was a father figure, mentor, benefactor, and a devoted follower of Christ. His invaluable contributions, enduring lessons and positive impact on our family and community will never be forgotten. Your absence will be deeply felt, but your legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. May your gentle soul rest in perfect in peace, the great descedant of Balogun Gamugasa of Ijebu land

My dear Uncle was very loving and caring. He stood by us while growing up in all areas particularly in respect of our academics. I can remember his saying that we should be free to approach him on any of our academics needs, and each time we came, he was ready to listen to us and assist. Some of us became what we are today with tremendous support and help from him. He will surely be missed. We love him but God loves him more. May God comfort us all in Jesus name.

In Deloitte Haskins & Sells ( as the firm was then known) our relationship with Engineer Olugbenga Olabenjo rested on two strong planks… his very close friend from FGC Sokoto …Mr. Alfred Akin Oyegbile and his cousin ….Late Adeyemi Fadipe. We thank God Almighty for the very pleasant and many years of fellowship with him. We pray for strength and succor for Mrs Tayo Olabenjo, the children and all other members of the Olabenjo family. His project documenting the family genealogy allowed us to know about those we never met. May his soul Rest In Peace.

A Tribute to My Brother from Another Mother In Loving Memory of Engineer Olugbenga Olabenjo It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to my dear friend, my brother from another mother, Engineer Olugbenga Olabenjo. Our friendship began many years ago at Federal Government College, Sokoto, where fate brought us together as young students. From those school days, a lifelong bond was formed one built on trust, loyalty, laughter, and unwavering support. What started as a friendship grew into a brotherhood that lasted through the many seasons of life. Olugbenga was more than my best friend. He stood beside me as my best man on my wedding day, sharing in one of the happiest moments of my life. His presence was a reflection of the special place he held in my heart and in my family. Olugbenga was a very caring and loving husband. As a father, he was also very caring and loving, and he ensured that all the children were equipped with good morals and excellent education. He was a man of integrity, kindness, wisdom, and quiet strength. As an engineer, he excelled in his profession, but it was his character that truly defined him. He was dependable, generous, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Those who knew him were blessed by his warmth, humility, and genuine friendship. Losing him has left a void that words cannot fully express. Yet I take comfort in the countless memories we shared from our youthful days at Federal Government College, Sokoto, to the milestones we celebrated together as friends and brothers. Though you have departed from this world, your legacy of love, loyalty, and friendship will live on in my heart forever. Thank you for being the brother I was fortunate enough to choose, and who chose me in return. Rest peacefully, my dear friend.
